How a Post-It > Love Potion
Check out my video version here!
I’m sure all of you at one point of time in your life considered mixing a rat tail and some bat eyeballs to brew a magical love potion (i did) yeah? Well, here’s the good and the bad news, the bad news is that well, that doesn’t work, it does get your “victim” in your arms though, at least until the ambulance arrives to take him/her away. But here’s the good news! You don’t need a love potion anymore, with the supreme advancement of modern technology, scientist have produced and placed in our hands a much more potent (and safe) tool, which after a decade of plant testing, resulted in what we warriors all now know as the excaliber, or in office terms, the Post-it.
The experiment.
Social scientist Randy Garner wondered whether Post-it Notes might have the power to enhance compliance with a written request made to another Person. In an intriguing study, he sent out surveys to people with a request to complete them. The survey was accompanied by either (a) a handwritten post-it note requesting completion of the survey, which was attached to a cover letter; (b) a similar handwritten message on the cover letter; or (c) the cover letter and survey alone.
The Results : More than 75% of the people who received the survey with the post-it note request filled it out and returned it, compared to only 48% and 36% in the second and third group respectively.
Why? Simple, people recognize the extra effort and personal touch that a handwritten post-it note has, and like it, in turn reciprocating to it’s request.
How does this help your dating game then?
Well, the next time you think of asking your office’s hot secretary out on a date, you don’t have to spend a month recording her daily movements and another month piecing together your master plan on when to ask her so that it coincides with the sunset and the rainbow; just write her a simple post-it note, draw a sun and a rainbow and a little “how about dinner? (:” note for her, but most crucially, and i emphasize this, don’t forget to sign off!
Here’s a short little nice video on Post-it love, adorable stuff (;

Now now, before you rush off to the nearest bookstore in search of a stack of post-its, remember to get free updates via rss or email from the dating rule book as you don’t want to miss out on anything potentially life-chaging in your dating game, do you? (:
Yours sincerely,
Desmond L.
