It’s Valentine’s Day! Start a quarrel with your loved one today (:

I just watched finish the latest episode of “How I Met Your Mother” and they brought up an interesting topic on every relationship having a reacher and a settler.

The Reacher: Some one who reaches beyond their looks and dates above their own looks, reaching beyond his ‘league’.
The Settler: Some one who settles for some one less good looking then themselves, settling for someone below their ‘league’.

In the Show, Marshall Erikson was clearly reaching and Lily was clearly settling.

Recently Taylor Swift was together with one of those weird Jonas Brothers brothers, clearly she was reaching and they were settling, however the tables seemed turned recently because Taylor Lautner beat them up, and even then, in that relationship, Taylor Lautner was clearly reaching while Taylor Swift was clearly settling. (Okay maybe not everyone would agree with me on these views, but either one of them was definitely reaching and the other definitely settling.)

Get Fighting!

So, the question remains, in your relationship, who is the one reaching and who is the one settling? In some relationships it could be really subtle, while in some they are horribly obvious. Go on, have the discussion with your loved one during Valentine’s day and get into a nice little couple’s quarrel, remember, there’s no such thing as both of you two loving each other as much, there’s always a slight tip in the balance, whether it may be 51-49, or 99-1 (my sympathies if this is your case). What’s Valentine’s day without some heat anyway? (:
